How to go camping

campITEC is a free barcamp-style feature modeled after the popular Podcamps that have proliferated in the last two years. campITEC isn't, however a direct copy of either gathering and it's uniiquely our version of the "unconference".

At campITEC , there are very few rules. But we do have some tips that will help you prepare for the campITEC experience:

All campers are threated equally. Everyone has the opportunity to be an expert and when you come to campITEC , we expect that you want to participate and not just listen .

Unlike Vegas, what happens at campITEC doesn not stay at campITEC . Notes will be freely available to everyone.

Be prepared to TALK and share your thoughts.This is a great networking opportunity and if you want to be "taught" and not interact please go to an education session instead. We've got a full agenda if you prefer a regular conference experience.

All sessions must obey the Law of 2 feet if you're not getting what you want out of the session, you can and should walk out and do something else. Remember we're not taking attendance and you get out of it what you put in.

Individual camps are either new-media focused , or all about free software choices and open source systems or have content about collaboration issues such as unified messaging and VoIP. If you get off topic take it offline.

What to expect:

Sign up in advance by choosing a camp topic when you register.

Be ready to contribute-come prepared by thinking of a topic you’d like discussed.

Show up on time. On Wednesday, we start 30 minutes after the Keynote concludes at 10:00 am. campITEC is officially in session BOTH days at 10:30 am, sharp.

Each camp starts with a general discussion and then you break off into groups, depending on the topics you choose.

Breaks are scheduled throughout the day, including lunch.

There is a wrap-up session at the end of the day.

Camp leaders DO NOT make presentations. They are just there to give guidance when needed.
